Help Anyone else having performance issues with Android v2.2?

My droid is running slower wrt applications and texting after the new 2.2 push. My main home screen is freezing too a few times a day, but not bad enough to force me to hard reset. It is taking longer to send simple texts and emails via gmail. Sometimes my phone freezes during the "sending..." point. It is also slower and takes longer as I switch from app to app. v2.1 was better wrt to all of what I just mentioned. I do, however, like the call/menu/browser tab that was added to the bottom center of my home screen. That is helpful.

Anyone else having similar or different issues?

I've heard that the phone gets better after it's been rebooted again and gets itself sorted out. I don't have the update yet, so I'll be hoping that this is true and I don't have to call VZW bugging them for the patch that they said they would also be pushing.
