Help Anyone else with these problems after Froyo?

Hi there,

At the very outset, I would like to inform that I am an android newbie and so please forgive me for my ignorance.

I got a new evo, and updated to froyo at the very beginning. I have noticed a few things that I would like to share and see if anyone could suggest anything.

1. When I go to Astro>sd card>download and long press on any image..a list of "File Options" come up that includes "Set As"..and when I select "Set file as Wallpaper"..this error sign pops up: "The application Gallery (process com.htc.album) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close". I used to be able to set wallpapers doing just that in my previous Evo which I replaced with this new one.

2. When I load "huffingtonpost.com", while the page is loading I can scroll down, but once the page is fully loaded, if I try to scroll it takes me to the top of the page, and I can not scroll anymore. This does not happen with any other websites.

3. I have already turned my phone's power off and back on several times, and even manually updated PRL and Profile. I am hesitant to do a factory reset, because my last phone had several issues and the sprint tech support made me do 4 factory resets and in the end, I got it replaced.

4. And, last but not least, I have a stupid question. So now that my phone had Froyo, I thought let me try some flash websites. I went to GettheGlass.com and it seems to work, but when I go to hbo.com, it says, your device does not support flash. My friend in NYC with evo+froyo is able to go to hbo.com. I dont understand this because this happened with the previous evo that I returned as well. So, does Froyo update installs full Flash 10.1 in the phone, or are we supposed to install an app or something? I am surprised why hbo's flash website is not supported by my phone.

1. have you tried just setting wallpaper from the home screen? menu-wallpaper?

2. if its just that site, its their problem. have you tried switching to desktop view?

4. hbo might be like hulu, it will give you an error every time. its not flash's fault, their servers are blocking mobile devices.

I did a hard reset and it helped fix many of the issues I was having.

Check out The Huffington Post seems to work fine on the EVO.

This is probably a silly idea so don't be offended, I like to have no stone unturned though.

Have you checked to see if you've perhaps configured an alarm or notification for Calendar or mail or sms or something else like that that's using your ring as a notification?

Its not that. I only use ringtone in question for in coming calls. Some days it happens once, some days multiple times. It started the same day i updated to 2.2

Well, if you change your mind about a factory reset, the only encouragement I can give is that this Hero where process seemed to cause a lot of trouble, or a Droid X where it can nearly brick your phone.
