Thank you Early for being my knight to the rescue :) That's what I mean about being happy here. Lol if you were a mod elsewhere you'd have a field day! Wiley has always been polite and cool and has come to my defense "over there."

As many others have already said, Only those that complain are heard.

Ive had the phone a week now, and i can honestly say this is an improvement over the OG evo in every way, save for the lack of kickstand (which i miss dearly). Im very confident that we own the very best phone available today, that includes the GSII and Photon (both great, but i feel are lacking compared to the 3vo).

Ive had no issues whatsoever, which is great considering the Thiasco that was the first month of EVO 4g ownership.

I personally just don't care for the UI...I like Sense better. Also, the EVO 3D screen has me spoiled. IMHO the display is much better. Don't get me wrong, the Photon is a great phone and if you are an international traveler then the fact that it is a world phone would be important to you. I have a phone for work (not an international traveler though, lol), so I use my phone mainly for entertainment purposes and social networking. I take lots of pictures and home video and the quality is great. I know other phones can display pictures and video on the tv through HDMI, but I also enjoy the full mirroring feature on the 3D using MHL, which is great for games.

    ^This.

As anyone who frequents web forums will tell you, forums are typically a place people go to complain. People who are content with their devices don't tend to post much (unless they're tweakers who like to fiddle with their devices, and we're a minority compared to total device owners).

With that said, I'm incredibly happy with my EVO 3D. It's ridiculously fast and smooth, looks and feels great, and hasn't posed any connectivity issues for me. Compared to my old Xperia X10, this is leaps and bounds a better device (not that the X10 was horrible, just horribly supported by SE.

Battery life could be better, but then I wasn't expecting stellar battery life with a device like this (and it's still quite acceptable). As someone stated elsewhere: "You don't expect amazing mileage from a Ferrari.".

I activated my phone on Tuesday by calling sprint, giving them the MEID number that was on the box, and the phone activated beautifully. Worked well for a few hours - then started rebooting by itself and freezing (had to take the battery out).

Overnight left it on charge, only went up to 76% and when I unplugged it, the red charge light stayed on, the screen was black, and the lights were lit up. could not power up or down, so battery out again. Rebooting frequently.

Called sprint and told them - they said it must be a defective phone, no problem, they will send me a new one. That's good. So anyway, last night at 6 pm, I made a call. Didn't use the phone again until 10 pm (was on charge) - 10 pm tried to txt someone - would not work. Could not email, internet, text, make or receive phone calls. No 3g showing up and zero bars. When I tried to call "Phone number cannot be validated". Hmmm. Called Sprint - was surprised to hear the automated voice tell me "Are you calling from 561 xxx xxxx?" which is NOT my number. I pressed no and typed in the correct number. Then the tech support person sounded puzzled, put me on hold and never came back to me. How rude. 20 minutes later I hung up and called again.

This time sprint asked me if I was calling from 561 xxx xxxx - a different wrong number - so I said no, and typed in my phone number. This time the tech support person told me hmmm, not really sure what could be wrong - so I suggested maybe doing a factory reset. She said OK. Tried to talk me through it - but when I got to the part where they have to provide the password, it said password incorrect. At this point I was constantly getting Error 67 messages and having to click on "dismiss" to get rid of those messages. Was not able to do a factory reset.

Then she said let's redo the MEID number: This time I read it off the phone itself, under the battery. She said OH WOW - that's why the phone was not working - we have the wrong MEID number on file. I said that's odd, I read it out from the box yesterday - so she said "well, maybe the box is wrong. That often happens - the wrong phone is put in the wrong box." (I was SURPRISED - this often happens???? Then that's REALLY bad). Anyway, I said but surely, if you had the incorrect MEID number on your system, then surely the phone would not have activated and would not have worked at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that true? If they have the wrong MEID number, they can't activate the phone? Anyway, she mumbled something but obviously didn't know.

FYI I just checked, and the MEID number on the box is the same as the one in the phone - which is the number I had given them to activate the phone. I have a feeling that the tech support person last night did not have a clue but was just randomly guessing at things to try to fix it. She was adamant though, that she could not do the factory reset because the MEID number was wrong in their system. I still don't believe it.

Anyway, after we redid the MEID number, the phone worked OK, although with only 1 bar, even with 4g enabled (I'm in Fort Lauderdale - I thought this was a 4 g area?). She just told me oh well, that happens.

So this morning I woke up, phone seemed to work great for 10 minutes - then froze again. battery out.

I AM FED UP. Sure, I understand that from time to time, defective phones will be shipped out and nobody knows they're defective until they're used - I'm just frustrated about the whole experience, of a day and a half of the phone shutting off, not charging, then my number and signal just disappearing off the face of the planet, and then getting told the MEID number they had on file was wrong - kind of like it was my fault.

I was also surprised that the sound was so poor (speaker) - when initially using the Google Navigation, I had to strain to hear it. I don't run the GPS through my bluetooth because I have some strange thing that if it is connected for phone and audio and media, if i talk to someone on the phone, whenever I hang up, suddenly, music starts blaring through the bluetooth. This happens even though I had NOT used the music to play any music at all - even though the phone is freshly rebooted - it seems to be a glitch and freaks me out - when i hit "end" on my bluetooth and I'm driving, and I expect silence, suddenly one of the songs blares out. I nearly drove into a tree the other day - so I have turned off that option so now anything other than phone will play from the phone itself. The problem of course is that the minute I go out of rangeo f the phone and the bluetooth disconnects and reconnects, it reconnects with media too - this is the motorola H17 which I love love love! best bluetooth I've ever had - but don't know where the problem lies - also had this problem with my HTC Hero. Talk on the phone with bluetooth, disconnect, and whammo, music.

Anyway, as far as the poor sound goes, my friend DonB, someone whose opinion I truly value and who knows a TON of stuff about everything, tells me there are apps out there to improve the sound quality. Naturally I will try those, but only once i've resolved all these other issues.

First impressions of the Evo 3d, in spite of everyone telling me it's the best phone they've ever had: not good. Also not that impressed with Sprint at this point. Been with them since 1996 - maybe time for a change?

I just want to add one thing for people who complain about poor battery life - we must remember, we are not dealing with a phone that has apps here - we are dealing with a mini computer that also has a phone option - and if we compare those with our laptops, where batteries only last a few hours, we are pretty lucky to have such long lasting battery life with our smartphones. Sure I wish they lasted longer too, and no doubt in the future they will, but for now I think we shouldn't forget just what kind of device we have in our hands - truly amazing mini computers. Except of course for my defective one :)

    Why include: "What so Evar?"

My 3D has no issue. 'But it ain't perfect.' My calls in and out work great, bluetooth headset works great. Lots to learn here, and lots to optimize for. My phone hardware is great (I don't use the FM radio, though). Software is very good, not perfect. Sprint network is good, not great. 4G is available in only a few places that I go, and not available at my home. There could be some user error, too.

All together, this is the most powerful and fastest business and play tool in my mobile history of many smartphones (all palm, starting with the 650). I love it.

Hey is there a thread about that issue here? I've noticed a green tint myself but didn't occur to me that it was an issue.

I bought mine on August 12th and I haven't had any technical issues but my buddy bought one the night before and his had a dead pixel. We think it was just a bad phone, his replacement has been flawless as well.

Mine has been perfect except for it running a bit on the warm side which worried me, but it never overheated or anything and i live in a warm area, and the heat issue went away after a few weeks. I don't know why. Although, of course, anything is going to get warm when you're using it, especially something as powerful as this phone.

I don't know what was wrong with that first phone they sent me - but now I have the replacement, I can see what everyone is raving about. It's like a totally new phone - it's not bugging out, switching off, freezing - even the power on button on the old phone needed two fingers to turn it on and off it was so stiff - this one is a breeze. don't want to jinx anything but so far so good, and a) i just got widgetlocker and love it - made a huge difference to the lockscreen and b) LOVE that we can uninstall things like nazcar and the green hornet and 3d games and spiderman - now I don't even feel the need to root! LOVE THE PHONE!!!!! The old one was definitely a complete dud.

Same here upgraded software for the Volume...I'm using Equalizer as well...My calls are great and no complaints from whom I'm talkin with...But Sprints coverage in sum ares is pretty bad...Hopefully new towers can help...But for now I'm satisfied...

I had the MoPho and that speaker Kicks Ass...Call quality after the new Update was Flawless...I still like that phone...

My 3G data is really sporadic, sometimes I can get well over 1k Kbps other times I get nothing at all. The 4G is VERY inconsistent compared to my OG EVO. When it's working it's faster, but driving the same route I have 3x as much 4g service time on the OG than the 3D. However the wifi on the 3D is FAR stronger and drains much less battery while out of reception.

    - I have had to repeat myself much more on the 3D.
    - My camera has locker up reviewing videos several times.
    - Light leakage across the whole bottom edge of the phone and partially up the sides.

Only the reception issue and light leak are somewhat bothersome.

My first Evo 3D was defective as well, and this one has been fantastic.

No problems with mine until it fell then I had to get a replacement, but this one works just as well as my initial (pre-fall).

On my 4th one now. First had quite a few dead pixels in the middle of the screen a week after I got it. Very annoying. 2nd one wouldn't stop rebooting. 3rd one worked great for about three weeks and then the touch screen started having problems. I've had this fourth one for about three weeks so far and right now it seems to be doing great. Hoping it is the last one. :)

The GPS really sucks the life out of mine EVO 3D and forget about using the 3D camera unless you plan on charging it shortly afterwards. When using the GPS the maps sometimes wont show up half the time but just a grid. My phone also runs hot at times. I came from the Samsung Nexus S which had no problems to this phone which doesn't have any fatal flaws but just to many issues. I would not recommend this phone.

Edit: I think my phone is jacked up so this review is likely not typical.

No issues here and I purchased it from day one. Compared to the Evo 4G which gave me problems during the second month.
