Ya I tried that and it is hard to find a down load and I was just wondering if someone had a sight that they downloaded it from and it was safe and it worked well.

Which version is advisable to use - MIUI AU? MIUI XJ?
Does the MIUI AU support A2SD+?

OK, I have now MIUI AU ROM. OMG, this is totally different stuff... :D
I'll spend some time with this strange (iphone-ish) ROM's interface, then I'll see if I like it or not...

    It is... different.
I like that it offers a different design, that I can show how versatile Desire is to my "iphone buddies". :p

However, it doesn't seem as snappy as the Gingerbread ASOP ROMs. I also don't like the lack of the apps launcher. The apps drawer seems a nice idea, but it adds one more unnecessary click. In ASOP ROMs my most used apps can be simply added to the homescreens like shortcuts or widgets, and all of them can be accessed in a single Menu click.

Bottom line, it's a nice looking ROM, but my preferences are with a light and efficient ROMs.

Are you kidding me?? MIUI is the most snappiest ROM around. I havent experinced any lags on mine so far. The lack of app drawer hasnt hindered me from using it at all I just simply use folders 2 organize my apps and I put my most used apps on the dock. You can add up to 5 apps in this dock. What you got to understand is that MIUI is still in beta stage. Every Friday the chinese devs add new features to it so you never know they might include app launcher in future releases.

Furthermore you'll be pleased to know MIUI is moving to Gingerbread 2.3 starting from next Friday. See my thread for more details: http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/289882-miui-2-3-gingerbread-new-ui.html

OK you might be right. Im talking based on my experinces. My phone seems to responds better to MIUI rom compared to say gingervillian or baadnewz hd sense rom. BUT I like them both they offer sumink different to MIUI.

I'll be honest, I've never tried Miui. i find Gingervillain the snappiest I've used. some people who used defrost and Miui said defrost was snappiest and for me GV is snappier than DF..

But like you say, many variables on an individual's handset...

I do that with GingerVillain & Launcher Pro, which gives me 15 locations in my (rotating) dock, plus an app drawer for any that for whatever reason don't merit a place in the folders :)

Edit: to clarify, I keep folders in 10 of my dock locations, app drawer plus a few key apps in remaining 5. Desktops mostly for Widgets.

Maybe someday I'll give miui a spin though.

Maybe it is not fair that I compared a MIUI ROM based on OS v2.2 against GV ROM based on OS v2.3 in terms of snappiness. I'll try the new MIUI ROM (based on v2.3) when they release it. Again, MIUI is a snappy ROM, but GV is even snappier.

Another thing I've noticed in MIUI-AU ROM - the lock screen is not really responsive. I have to swipe the damn bar down a few times to get the screen unlocked...
