I found a discussion thread at New 100% reliable "temp root" for Titanium Backup (won't stop working until reboot!) [Archive] - xda-developers which talks about getting temporary root for an HTC Sensation phone.

Since I am not a developer, I have no idea if this is possible for the D3, and I don't want to blindly try an exploit without really know what damage it might cause.

Does anybody have an thought about this approach, at least until we get a "real" and permanent root solution?

From a user viewpoint (mine) I just want to run Titanium backup since I installed MyBackup Pro and the differences with Titanium Backup Pro are painfully obvious.

I am not sure if there are many people looking at Temp root since there is such a large push to completely root the D3. ( I think its mostly because of the fact that everyone I have run into that has a D3 upgraded from a rooted D1 that they had been enjoying). I will take a quick look at this since I don't have a whole lot of anything going on today.

Wouldn't temp root at least give us the ability to remove bloat and use Titanium backup?
