So I went to the Verizon store to check it out, halfway convinced I would get it if it wowed me but it was just, eh. First thing I noticed was its slightly more narrow than my ET4G which I didn't like. Then there was no Swype preinstalled. Hated not having a key to bring up settings. Went into the browser and did a speed test with Speakeasy. It trounced the numbers of my Epic. It was getting like 23 down and 12 up. So I thought for sure it would kill my Epic on internet sites but not really. I fired up 5 different sites including Phonedog and other graphic heavy sites and my Epic loaded them about the same time. One of the sites the Epic actually loaded faster.

The only thing I really noticed about ICS I wanted was the button that brings up all the previous apps you were in but then again, holding down the home key on my Epic will do that too. Just not as nicely. Pinch to zoom was smoother and more fluid on my Epic surprisingly enough. Cameras aren't even a comparison really and which screen is better is up to personal opinion but both are real nice and sharp. So nothing really blew me away and went OMG! I need this phone now! Not to mention Verizon plans are just ridiculous. $50 for 5GB of data and then you have to buy a separate plan for minutes and texting with the unlimited one being $100? No thanks, I will keep my Epic and stay with Sprint for now.

+1. The nexus is nice, but its not going to be the most bad assest android out there. The only envy I feel is over ICS. Even if and when we get 4.0 on the epic, it'll be all TouchWiz'd up, so much of the fun will be lost

Haven't played with it, but I would't mind an HD res screen.

I really didn't notice a difference at all. Pure hype IMO.

I wouldn't say hype, I have seen and played with the Rezound. I agree that when just glancing at the home screen it looks basically the same, but it's when you open apps and web pages. More is visible and text is generally clearer and crisper so there is less need to zooooom in. I know the HD screen on the Nexus is Pentile but from what I read the resolution gets rid of any of the problems the lower res pentile screens had.

Thats may be true but it doesn't WOW you. Its not like watching standard def and high def TV next to each other. I played with both side by side for 15 minutes and never really noticed a difference. I am sure there is, but its got to be very small.

i have both and i like the epic touch just as much im just waiting for ics to be available or any pure aosp rom so i can get rid of this horrible touchwiz but i got the touch for free and probably woulda used an upgrade for it definitely the best phone on sprint hands down. i used my upgrade for the first and last nexus to be released on verizon and not couldnt be happier im also grandfathered in so data is not an issue but in connectivity the galaxy nexus has much better service with lte then wimax. both are great phones and you cant really lose with either of them.
