Title pretty much explains it all. I just don't like the new "feel" of this version of Swype. It seems like the old version made maybe two mistakes per text message. On this new one, it's probably closer to 5+..

    .........Swyped on my X ;)

Seems about the same to me, just white instead of black.

+1. I really like the old black keyboard better than the new one, though.

I like the new one better, actually. I think it's shorter - really, I wouldn't mind it being even a little shorter. I like that there's so little screen real estate taken up with it.

I don't make any more mistakes than the old Swype, and with everything being a little more responsive, I think I actually make fewer.

The new version sometimes seems to think I let go earlier than I actually lift my finger off the screen. Other than that, I wish the vibrations were more like the stock keyboard.

I like how the new keyboard looks but it is definitely less accurate than the old one.

The one and only guy to agree with me. Thanks. Looks like I just have to practice a little more. Thanks for the feedback.

I think it is about the same. I like it. I get faster every day with it. The BEST thing is the voice texting. Holy crap that is great!

Very much less accurate for me. I was very much in love with 2.1, but with 2.2 I'm starting to think about seeing another keyboard.

if you root, there is a great thread over on xda with several themed swypes, including the 2.1 theme.

Same here. Seems like it needs to relearn, but after the first couple days, it's working fine.

    X. The keys were black or charcoal in color. Now they're off white.

I kinda like this one better. Seems to "think" and come up with words faster.

Have had plenty of errors with both the old and new version but no real good objective metric to compare the two.

Ditto. No idea why but it is VERY much less accurate than before.

Have you guys tweaked the accuracy vs. speed slider? Maybe it would minimize the errors you are seeing.

For me the accuracy of the words seems about the same, but the vibrations are waaaaaay off. But that really doesnt bother me much...

A lot of people don't know that you can adjust accuracy and speed. The new keyboard is much more accurate for me with the same settings. And the magnifying glass window us much less jittery. Verry accurate now.

if you tweaked the accuracy for 2.1 do you need to tweak it again for 2.2?

cause i agree with the OP, 2.1 seemed to get 98% of the words right... 2.2 i seem to use the backspace key a lot.

So far today, I like 2.2 alot better. Its more accurate, the vibrate is better and its easier to tap words instead of swype them if you need to. I did like the black over the white but its not that much of an issue. Im completely happy with 2.2 swype right now.

that I googled it to see if anyone else thought the same as me. That's how I came across this. I felt so much faster on 2.1. I thought maybe it needed to relearn me but it just comes up with some out of left field words. That's my 2 cents. Were there different stock accuracy vs. speed settings?

I think the keys are actually smaller on the landscape keyboard with 2.2 - visually giving a bit more space between keys. I agree it sometimes seems the X is relearning words, but I hadn't thought about adjusting the slider toward more accuracy. There's also a slider adjustment for word choice popups, which can slow you down, yet make for cleaner typing.

Great stuff, I think. Many more options to suit the individual.
