While stuck at work the only thing I usually use my phone for is to watch Philly sports teams through my slingbox app on my phone. On the Thunderbolt I could use the 4G Switch app and force LTE only. I'm stuck at work now with my new Nexus and I can only get 3G which the Slingplayer App does not like. I thought this phone would offer me more flexibility but it seems it does not. I hate to return it but I have no option since I can't force LTE. Anybody think there will be an app soon to fix this. I'm also thinking my Nexus antenna is weaker than my Thunderbolt because at least the Bolt would pick up a 4G signal most of the time.

I'm seriously thinking of it. I'm really disappointed with the radio and its 4G reception. It reminds me 100% of my Charge and that's what I was initially afraid of.

Some people said it had a new radio in it. Well if it does, the performance is no different than it was in the Charge.

I just got back from a mall where my wife and I had dinner. I know the mall well and the Rezound that I returned prior to getting the GNex got solid 4G throughout. Not only did the GNex lose 4G frequently, it also lost 3G for a time!

I'm really bummed about this. I am glad I tried the Rezound before the GNex because it did give me a benchmark and the GNex is not living up to that benchmark. :(

I may have to. I thought this phone would grant me more freedom but I can't even force 4G. My radio is def not as good as my Thunderbolt. I usually get 4G at work but I have yet to get it with my Nexus.

VZW Tech Support knows of this issue. Hopefully they will have a solution very soon.

    Hang in there!

I've actually been ridiculously impressed by the 4g signal / speed. But this is my first 4g device, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I'm happy with mine, the only issue I have right now is at lower brightness I get some crazy banding, at most I would exchange for another Nexus.

Ken you should really just get an iPhone, you have been a debbie downer for this phone.

Maybe a bit quick to "jump to conclusions". You haven't even had the phone for a half of a day....

I've noticed some complaints about 3G and 4g speeds. So, now I'm wondering do any of you regret buying the Galaxy Nexus?

I am having reception issues as well. I am hoping my other issues are just getting used to ICS. I never thought I would miss the menu button so much.

I wonder if this is related to VZW 4G network issue that happend last week. Plus there must be a lot of new Nexus buyers adding strain to it today. Usually battery also sucks when 4G reception is poor. I'd give it at least a week to decide.

I must admit the phone looks amazing. But I jumped on the razr, and between smart actions and constants strong 4G,, i'm glad I didn't wait. But hope the signal issue gets resolved but it's probably the radio, which is why I can't do Samsung.anyone try GPS yet? How long to lock in you're location?

Its a SAMSUNG phone and EVERY newer Samsung phone has weak radios compared to HTC phones. The Nexus S, S2, Charge and now this one. Verizon can look into it all they want, its not a network or a software problem, its the good old Samsung hardware. Having said that, I love my S2 and don't have these issues in my area cause I have towers all around.

Merged threads as they are along the same lines. I would say give it a couple of days and see if everything gets worked out. Just a suggestion.

Not at all. I had the bionic and this phone is much faster than the bionic. My only problem is battery life but I wasn't expecting it to be stellar considering the specs and the 4G connection. I haven't had any data problems like others and I couldn't be happier!

I do not regret buying you.

I'm wondering if the complaints are the GSM varieties.

LTE/VZW has the same signal strength as other moto/sammy devices in my office.

    I love you.

Regarding the dropping 4g issues, I experienced the same thing with the my RaZR-rent a phone. So I'm guessing they haven't completely resolved the LTE issues, I highly doubt it's the gNeX's radio thats tweaking out. Give it some time before tossing complaints.

btw: loving my GnEX, it smooth, screen is amazing. People is a great way of integrating contacts with social networking. And the 5mp camera is outstanding, it'll fit perfect as my point and shoot along with my DSLR for upcoming trips.

Whats more fun than video calling my girlfriend on her GnEX? NADA!

Same thing with my Bionic. My Nexus has been good all day though so far. No way I'd consider taking this back its easily the best Android phone I've used imo

I had signal issues, when I turned airplane mode on.

Seriously, though. Think about how many people jumped onto 4G today. I know I'm a new 4G customer, and I wasn't surprised that sometimes a signal can wain a little bit. It did it on my Droid, I near expect it to on anything else.

My 4G reception has been very poor compared to my Thunderbolt as well. (Can't believe I said that out loud) I sure hope there'll be a fix.

Also I'm kinda bummed how the screen looks blue-green when viewing even slightly off angle.

And, how the hell do you refresh pages?

Definitely adjusting to ICS. Phone is so smooth and fast. I'm going to give it the full 14 days, but I am concerned.

The 4g in my area is wonderful.
at the gym with my 3g phone google music would take long to get buffed. and i have one bar of 3g.
now the song fully loads in 2 seconds and i have like 2-3 bars of 4g its amazing!

Nope. Radio is on par with all phones I've had up to now (no 4G out here) wouldn't be surprised if it isn't acting well with 4G though, seems that LTE has as many cons as pros.

Phone has been great to me thus far, couldn't be happier.

I love this phone, I'm not experiencing any problems with 4g at all, it's all running smooth for me. The camera can be blurry at times because it tries to take pictures so fast, but I already knew about that problem. I love this phone!

I have had no problems with my 4G. Always full bars both at work and home. Battery life is my only complaint but I was expecting that and always have a charger handy so not a big deal. Love this phone.
