This has been discussed in older threads, but it seems that with many apps the latest version can sometimes make a big difference (good or bad) in how well an app works.

So based on the current version of TuneIn, has anyone had any problems with it, does it work pretty good ?

Here is a link to it on Google Play if you need to see what version it is -

It's a free app for goodness sake! Why don't you just try it for yourself rather than asking a bunch of strangers on a forum?

Well that's supposed to be one of the neat things about a forum - being able to ask people's experience with a particular app, .......and perhaps someone just might mention another app that is a lot better that I might not even have heard about yet.

There seems to be so many, many apps for some things like this that it could take a long time to try a lot of them out to see if they are worth the trouble trying before finally finding a really good app, and there might be some other forum members who know of a really good app and be glad to help.

I use TuneIn Radio on my Samsung Galaxy Player 5 (which is like a mini tablet-WiFi only). I like it because it has a huge amount of choices. My favorite thing is browsing through all the talk radio. Just about every topic you can imagine, I've found tech talk radio shows that I never knew existed. And of course music to suit probably any one.

I also use iHeartRadio because there is one local talk show that TuneIn doesn't pick up because of licensing.

I paid the 99cents and purchased the TuneIn Radio Pro. It has the ability to record what you are listening to. I haven't used this feature yet, but certainly will at some point.

You might do a search of the "Application Forum" for TuneIn. You'll find past threads with lots of useful information. I have learned a lot this way about TuneIn and other applications I was interested in trying. Searching is a great way to find info about what you may be interested in, then you can tag a question at the end of the thread if you don't find what you are looking for.

And yes, these forums are very helpful to learn from. They have helped me out in the past with choosing apps. With the 100's of thousands of apps out there it's nice to take advantage of other peoples experience. Almost everyone is willing to relate their experience to help someone. I respond as much as I can because I have benefited from others a great deal. Pay it forward.

Thanks for the ideas, looks like I will have to consider some other possibilities because I found out yesterday that TuneIn has not yet made their program compatable with enough models yet. (I had considered the paid version also)

I'll check out iHeartRadio as well as other possibilities.

Good idea about searching the threads, it can help lots of times, but if it is an app that gets updated regularly a thread that is even a month or two old might not reflect the latest update, and sadly some comments I read on Google Play go something like "this was a great app till the last update" so an older thread before the latest update won't have info as to how good (or bad) the latest version might be :(

(it would be good if the developers would also keep the older proven version available for those who would prefer it over the latest update)

I also use both iHeart and TuneIn.
Both work great on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Couldn't have said it better myself TBH. Please don't be shy in asking any time you need assistance with anything.

To answer the question at hand, I've no issues with Tune In Pro on my Asus TF101. I don't use it mega regularly, but it works when I need it to. :)

I especially appreciate forum-goers' opinions on paid v. unpaid (same) apps. To further illustrate this consider TuneIn free v. TuneIn pro. Before paying for the pro version it is nice to get opinions on it right HERE. That's the beauty of forums.
On a side-note, TuneIn works fine with the GalTab 7+. I love this app.

9. I use TuneIn on my Asus Slider and it works great.

The Play store will tell you whether your device is compatible. If you access it from your device, I think it just won't show up if it's not compatible. If you access it from a PC while logged in to a linked Gmail account, there will be a little banner to the left, just under the picture, that will say if your device is compatible.

Thanks to all for the replies !

I have a very good tablet, but TuneIn has not yet made their app compatable with all models yet so I have to try some others as I have time, like the iHeart, ect.

I had also considered Pandora, but there were some comments that the most recent update/version is glitchy, but since not all the recent comments on Pandora were negative, I still could try it and see, anyone have any experience with the most recent version of Pandora ?

Thanks, it would be nice if some apps were more widely compatible though :(
