I haven't had a change to call Tmobile yet, but can I buy and use any of their phones to use on this plan?

Not sure if you'll see this (sometimes slow to get a reply in these carrier forums :) )

I am but I have a Nexus One, so I'm not sure if it's a special case. I havent looked at my data usage in a long time but that's mostly because I'm almost always on WiFi

For whatever it's worth I pay about $75/month after all taxes and fees.

I got a text from T-Mobile yesterday telling me they phasing out no contract month to month and they wanted to sign me up to a contract. Wouldn't tell me exactly when though.

I wonder if they are just trying to bully people into contracts because the merger attrition has begun. They seem to call me a lot, but I never answer -- I'm assuming it's for something similar.

I'd be truly shocked if they actually forced everyone to get a contract though. Though I'm not suprised they might lie and say they are planning on forcing people "soon".

I really loved tmo, but if this merger goes through I'm off to sprint probably. Hopefully they will get to carry the Nexus 3.

I get a text about once a month saying that they have great news, I can upgrade from my flexpay plan, all I need to do is call 611.

Kind of ballsy to tell me to call them to have them try to sell me something.

Given what I've heard about their customer service lately, I wonder how long I'd have to sit on hold before they would connect me to a salesman :)

But I look on the website and the non-flexplay month to month plans would increase my cost for the same amount of service by $15 bucks a month, not what I would consider great news or an upgrade.

I'm not on flexpay because of bad credit, I think it might have been the only non-contract way to go when I initially signed up.

I have read that people are getting calls about flex pay going away.

I haven't gotten a call from them though, and if they force me to upgrade and pay more for the same service, I'll probably switch carriers just as a F.U. even though for the service I want they are all about the same price.
