Anyone using the latest Handcent version yet? (4.1.1)

I want to try the Handcent Talk feature. I'm currently on 4.0, but there's been two updates since that, with mixed bug reports. I was wondering if anyone here had it going and didn't have any problems?

I'm really interested in seeing their implementation of free "texts". Like how iPhone users no longer have to use up their text message plans between one another. Just with this, you have to use Handcent AND have created a login for the service (which you can tie to your phone number-- like how Tango does). And apparently there is or will be some kind of implementation that it works with iPhone users, but I don't know if they have to be jailbroken and using Handcent or if it works with stock messaging app.

Any way, I'm probably going to make a thread in the general app category with questions about Handcent Talk feature (feel free to talk about it here, though). But the main point of this thread was just to check if the update is working ok with the VZW GNex. :)

I have yet to have any real issues... occasionally names show up as numbers but that has happened on and off for a while

I am using 4.1.1 and just finally signed up for the Handcent network. I have been trying to link my phone number but I never get the SMS with the authorization code so I can try out those free text messages. Very frustrating.

xCirca-- Yeah, the occasional number showing up instead of name happens with 4.0, too. But I just go back out and back in and it's fixed, like you said, so not a big deal. Contact photos do appear, though, right? That was an issue someone reported on the comments on Google Market.

kokiangel-- Yeah, someone said on the Handcent FB page that it's a problem with ICS. Mine failed the first time I tried (this is on 4.0). And then the second time, it worked and linked with my phone number. BUT I never got a text message first. I just took a second and was authorized. So yeah, I don't know.
