The lack of BT voice dial is really annoying, I was looking for a solution and found, maybe, this. It doesn't look perfect (still have to activate through phone, not BT)...has anyone tried it?

Voice Dialer HF (DFXmobile)

Might be worth $4 if it works since I don't see when real VD is going to be added to Android.

Been wanting to see some opinions on this as well. Will probably buy it if people are liking it. Don't see us getting any BT voice dial love from Google anytime soon. It's not a priority for them (apparently none of them have ever driven a car and talked on a cellphone simultaneously...guess they all take the G-train to work).

I was excited about this app initially, but as I think about it, I will still have to get out the phone, push the button to wake it up, swipe to unlock, then push the camera button to start voice activation. If I'm going to do all of that, I might as well also push on the number to dial onscreen and save 4 bucks. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something?! why not just use the microphone button that comes with phone to voice dial?

tho i do wish bluetooth would dial !

Until voice dial is fully integrated this is the best solution for me.
I find the stock voice dial does not recognize names well with car noises, it has not yet just dialed a number for me. It brings up a list of choices...not easy to read and select while driving!
I use screenmodewidget so don't have to swipe the lock and can wake the phone by touching the camera button, when the phone is in the car dock the camera button is easily accessible. Anyway, I hit that and then the voice dial icon...that's it...2 clicks and I get connected to my call.
I always hit 'home' as soon as I get in the car so it's not in the car dock navigation stupid screen...I hate that useless screen!
For me, it was well worth the $4. I use it a lot, not just in the car...it works really well and is convenient.

My experience says that the stock voice dialer just plain old sucks. Ambient noise or not, I can't get the thing to work worth a hill of beans. Voice search, otoh, works beautifully. Void dial blows.

I really do not know if it is me but I do not understand what you like and dislike from this statement??????

I did a search for voice search and found nothing.
You say the stock voice dialer sucks but at the end you also say voice dial sucks, so does the voice dialer app for $4 on the market suck or is that the voice search you are referring to??????
Thanks

Apologies for not being clear.

I was speaking of Androids built in voice dialer. I have no experience with the paid application. There is also a built in voice search (its what you get when you hold the magnifying glass). The dialer and the search feature are not the same.

Thank you for the clarification!

I did not know there was a built in voice dialer (actually there is probably lots of stuff we all do not know what this phone does, I learn things every day with this phone), I always used the voice search, and that works great. But I did buy the $4 app and it works great, now only if they can get it to work with the Bluetooth it would be perfect!

Thank you

I had trouble downloading this app for some unknown reason. I kept thinking the stock voice dialer was the app. I got immediate help via email several times until I realized I hadn't installed it properly. That's real good service for a $5 app. Now I use it and it works well. :)
