Driving me nuts trying to find a way to delete old locations.

I read that since the maps update you can no longer delete history and the clear cache option is greyed out.

    Any other solutions?

pretty sure if you go into the "manage apps" in your menu-settings, you can delete history for almost any of your apps. Give it a shot.

Doesn't work since the update the only option is to clear cache but it is greyed out.

That doesn't work either. The directions still remain under layers.

home screen, Menu>Applications>Manage Applications>Maps> click on uninstall updates

Reinstall the update for Google Maps. Done.

Found this in the Maps help menu...
    Phone
Reset Google Maps from the menu to restore it to the state it was in when first installed, clearing the following locally stored info if applicable: search history, favorites, cookies, preferences, map and satellite image cache, and layers.

Android-powered devices: From your home screen, go to 'Menu' > 'Settings' > 'Applications' > 'Manage applications' > 'Maps' or 'Google Maps', and then choosing to 'Clear data' or 'Factory reset'. If you've updated Maps from Market, you may need to uninstall the update before you can clear data.

I wasn't trying to hide anything. :p Just trying to clear up a bunch of the old directions I had.

The only thing that worked was uninstalling and reinstalling the update.

All better now but they should really fix this so you don't have to go through that every time you want to clean it up.
