Can anyone point me to a thread that assists with transferring an app to a new phone when the application is no longer on the marketplace?

if you had it backed up on your previous phone (you can use astro file manager to back it up if you haven't yet), the .apk should be on your sd card.

I don't have it backed up. I just have it installed on the phone. Is there a way to make an .apk from the application that is installed? Is there a walkthrough to backup an app for astro file manager?
