AOSP Kernel I Can Overclock

I recently flashed back to Cyanogenmod 7.1 and flashed the Tiamat 4.1.0 non-sbc kernel. I overclocked it to 1036 (Interactive or InteractiveX depending on the kernel) like I usually do on all the custom sense kernels I ever put on my phone. I didn't check it to set on boot because I was told to never do that when trying a new kernel.

Anyway, this kernel froze up on me O_O. I was playing a game (angry birds) and it was going fine. Then I decided to play temple run. It was taking longer than usual to load. I tried pressing my haptic keys and power button to no avail and knew the phone just locked up.

Does anyone know of a AOSP undervolted kernel that can be overclocked? Thanks!

Theres a LOT of people complaining abou tissues with Temple Run for anddroid over on their facebook fan page.

You can overclock AOSP kernels... so I would say leave it be for now and if the issue keeps happening dont overclock it or change your governor.

The only issue I've experienced since installing Temple Run on the release day was when I was using Titanium Backup to restore the data from switching ROMs, it kept FCing on me. Aside from that no other problems until today. It might have been the governor. What are your takes on the Savage kernels? And I'm not to keen on the CFS and BFS even after reading the kernels for dummies. I guess I'm still the dummy on that :) lol

I'm trying SmartassV2 OCed to 1036. Hopefully it does fine for my phone.

I have never used a savage kernel. My only foray into aosp for any amount if time has been MIUI for the past month and I've loved it.

I'm using the mason kernel right now. If you decide to check it out read the op really well so you get the right version for GB/ICS/ect

I've had great experiences w/ Tiamat 3.3.7 and SavagedZen. I would achieve better battery life w/ Savagedzen but my Evo was more fluid w/ Tiamat.

+1 to tiamat 3.3.7. Or the new mason kernel. The. 15 version with the new Wheatley governor is still being tested but has been said to blow 3.3.7 out of the water which is quite an accomplishment since it's regarded by many to be the gold standard for aosp kernels.

And if you decide to try the fso kernel, make sure you make a nandroid first before flashing ;)

I've had really good luck with Tiamat 3.3.7 as Mizzou points out it is the Gold Standard for AOSP ROMS I have not tried the Mason Kernel I have heard a few good and interesting things about it but Have yet to try it. Just keep in mind kernels need a few days to settle and keep in mind that some times kernels and ROMs just don't like each other for what ever reason.

Mason kernel on Lionheart gov is working great for me. I'm gonna do vipermod and COD tweaks next.

fastest performing Kernel hands down is SNAPTURBO!!! Not sure on battery life but it performs faster by double, than any other Kernel.

I've never even heard of that kernel, and therefore am skeptical.

Do you have a link? Source?

SnapTurbo kernel has been around for a while and many have had great success running it. I personally have never tried this kernel (don't know why exactly) but you can read a lot about it just by Googling it.

I just went with Tiamat 3.3.7 non-sbc with Interactive max at 1036. For AOSP ROMs InteractiveX nor SmartassV2 work well with my phone. For Sense those governors are no problem.
