Can anyone recommend a good app that will open up music as a ringtone? On my old Droid, I had Handcent and that opened it up. However, on my X, I actually kind of like the stock messaging app, so can anyone recommend an app that will do this? Thanks!

Yeah, I downloaded that and I opened the program. You edit the song and then make it a ringtone? It just seems like a lot of work; with Handcent it just gave you the option of using your music library when you were setting a ringtone. Is there anything else that does that?

I have a EVO but the Droid is running 2.1 Just like the EVO and all i have to do is open up a song in the music player press menu and click set as ringtone

Do you not have that option?

Well, with Ringdroid you can customize what portion of the song you want to use. You can also save tones as notification sounds and alarm sounds.

IMO, this is the best one out there if editing them from your phone.

i don't think the stock ringtone trimmer for android will allow you to set those ringtones as notifications or alarms. thats what ringdroid does.

Doesn't the droidx already allow you to choose to use MP3s as ringtones?
