[App help] Notifications popping up after market install

Sorry if this has been covered in another post. About 7 times a day I get these unwanted notifications ( a star, or a plus symbol) asking me to download this or that. What gives? It seems this started with the new market but I could be wrong. Any help from these annoying notifications would be helpful. Thanks

i agree could be an application you have installed. check the settings in the market app and/or post up what the notifications EXACTLY say.

An app on your phone does push this aggressive AirPush advertising on you.

To find this app you should install an AirPush detector like LookOut's 'Ad Network Detector'.
