Is installing and using the app entitled "App Cache Cleaner" helpful for the HTC EVO 4G LTE?? Or, does the phone itself perform the same housecleaning?

No, you have to manually clean out app caches, so maybe this app will automate the process.

I've never used a cache cleaner before, so I'm not really that knowledgeable of them.

I use it on my galaxy s3 and nexus 7.
Dont automate it though. App cache is there for a reason, just use the one-tap widget.
If things feel a bit laggy (keyboard feels slow or pics on a website wont load) and the widget has turned orange or red, tap it and see if it fixes it.
