Now that you are rooted, lets pick away those pesky apps that were previously irremovable. This will free up RAM. I will appreciate it if someone can provide me the Rush's app list, as I did not write down all system apps I removed. This list is obviously incomplete !!

    To Begin
    :
    1. Download Titanium Backup
    2. Start the app and click the "Backup/Restore"
    3. Click on the apps that you wish to remove and then "Uninstall", you can "Backup" if you'd like.

The following apps are safe to remove:

    BubbleAccuweatherDaemon
    AccuweatherWidget
    AccuweatherWidget_Main
    Application Moniter
    Calculator
Gallery (Warning, in camera, this will disable the thumbnail pic AND this disables looking at MMS unless you save attachement and use another picture viewer app)
    Gmail *
    Google search (Widget)
    Email
    Exchange services
    Files
    Factory Test
    Google+ *
    Live Wallpaper
MAPserviceSamsung (This is something connected with bluetooth, i believe its to read aloud an incoming message)
    Maps
    Memo 1.0
    Memo (Widget)
    Music Player
    Music FX
    Mobile ID
    Phase Beam
    Play Books *
    Play Music *
    Play Magazine *
    Samsung Push Service
    SamsungAppsUNA2
    SASlideShow
    Sweeping Lights
    Talk *
    TalkBack
    Task Manager *
    Video Player
    Youtube *
    Voice Dialer
    Voice Search
    Weather Daemon
    Application Moniter
    (All clock widgets)
    (All default live wallpapers)

    * = Re-downloadable on Play Store
    * = Restart your phone to remove "Task Manager" from "Recent Apps" list.

    THE FOLLOWING ARE GREAT REPLACEMENTS:
    Quickpic > Gallery
    MX Video > Video Player

    NEVER DELETE THE FOLLOWING:

Launcher 2.0.08 - This is the home launcher. You can download better launchers from the Play Store; However, you should never delete this. If one day you decide to "Factory Reset" your phone, as soon as the phone wakes, you will not have a home launcher, thus you will be stuck. This launcher is the default launcher, If you delete it, you will not have a default launcher when you factory reset. You will endlessly receive a force close message.

Samsung keyboard - What will you type with if you factory reset ? You could use voice to text, but for the sake of safety, do not uninstall this app.

    WE HAVE STOCK RECOVERY:
You can revert back to stock using Mr.Shabby's thread :
    Here
Just in case you delete system important files !

Thank you LesB for the missing app list I needed

    You're welcome.

To remove widgets, you press and hold the widget and drag to the trash can icon on the bottom right.

I hope someone can provide me a list of their stock RUSH, without app removals, for me to fix up this thread.

flashing the ICS beats audio zip in cwm is not safe, but there is a backup of /system :)

    yay me.

    not safe: Beats_AudioLib Ultra Addon.zip
(breaks phone.apk, repeated f/c's : volume buttons don't get recognized and memory gets raped.)
replaces a few stock files so be sure to have a backup (i mean, this is why we have CWM )

I have been unrooted due to factory restore. I can't get adb to detect my device. is there another way to flash supersu into my phone? I'm already on the rooted kernel

    [EDIT]
    shell@android:/ # dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 bs=4096
    dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 bs=4096
/sdcard/system.img: cannot open for read: No such file or directory

    1|shell@android:/ # dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 bs=4096
    dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 bs=4096
/sdcard/boot.img: cannot open for read: No such file or directory

why is this happening to me?

    flash cwm.
adb reboot recovery (when powered on)

or hold vol up + power (let go after it flashes samsung pre-boot)
top left hand corner will display white text before entering cwm

then try to connect with adb.

I used root explorer to delete some of the bloat but they still show up greyed out and if i press on them it says not installed.I know i missed something. They all have sd on them.Anyone know what i should do next without messing something up.

I am not sure why you ended up with them greyed, but if you want to uninstall them I use an app called Root Uninstaller. Also to add apps to the Rom I use Apps2Rom

Use Titanium Backup to delete them and/or send them to your phone then delete them and restart your phone. I had the same problem.

Is it safe to uninstall Activation.apk?
The hands-free-activation is annoying. I only use this phone for as a Internet phone (Talkatone, KakaoTalk).

If i were you i would try freezing it first, this way if it does cause a problem it will be easy to fix

Another option is to make a backup in recovery. This way if you delete something that will prevent the system from booting, you can quickly recover.

Or, even better, do both :)

It's always good to have a current backup handy in case you mess something up ;)
