I'm probably not the only one who has requested an app such as this one, but it truly would be very useful.
It would be great to have an app that could be used to send a text message that would automatically delete itself from the receivers phone after it was read.

I know there are apps like this; however, they require the receiver to also have the application installed on their phone.

Is there any way to even create an application that could do so?

yes, write a terrible virus to delete the message and sent it to the receiver or its provider.

No, serious, there is no way to do that.
That is because you are in no way privileged to delete someone else's messages
