yep......this will not root anything older then 5.0....sorry

plus these one click root methods, i never trust. it is better to do the work and root the hard way. this way you learn the process and by learning, you will lower the risk of something going wrong. one clicks made people lazy and when something goes wrong, they have no clue how to fix it.

anyways, the newer android os's are more difficult to root. this is a good thing as it also lowers the risk of somebody hacking your phone. but is bad as it makes rooting more complicated. also rooting now days is device specific.

if you want to root your device please head on over to xda developers forum. this is where most of your developers will hang out. they are the ones who look for exploits to root devices and then they publish their findings there.

Just to reiterate one of the points above: if a phone can be rooted using one of these one-click tools it's because the OS has a vulnerability. And if the rooting tool can exploit that vulnerability to root the phone malware can as well (meaning it can gain access to other apps' data, install itself to the system where a factory reset won't remove it, and own your phone completely). So while it may be inconvenient it is a good thing that these tools don't work any more.

Rooting is still possible (with the exception of some devices which are locked-down too hard), but solutions that can be used with no knowledge are largely gone. And given that a rooted device is more vulnerable, as well as root giving the user the ability to screw their device up if they don't know what they are doing, having to learn and understand a little before doing it is not a bad thing.
