App that will show who the Carrier is?

If my phone is in my own carrier's network, it shows VERIZON,

if not, it just displays a nondescript message... what I forget at the moment, should have done a screenshot.

Is there an app that can detect the carrier's name?

ie, Cell Wave or T-Mobile instead of just saying 'roaming' or 'Foreign carrier'...

You could add a Zooper widget and edit it to print the carrier name.

There are websites you can go to that will tell you info about your carrier etc

I have followed that website before..... info on My carrier, which is Verizon is not the question posed.

I want to know "what carrier" my phone is using "right now" ??
ie, it is roaming out there somewhere, but on what carrier is it roaming onto?

I have a technical background in electronics, and I am just plain nosey.... I want to know everything, even if it is "super secret". :rofl:

Signal Check Free/Pro Will give you this information as well as which bands your using, etc. It's pretty handy.

Since I started this thread, I have found this app, which does everything I asked for and tons more. It was recommended by "Iowa" back in post #6
the heck of it was, it never was installed on a HomePage and was lost in the Apps Drawer... so I forgot about it.... that happens to us old grass landers after 73 years.

On the picture below, note it says "Data State: Disconnected.
that is because I always leave DATA off unless I am away from home and need the internet.
WiFi is always on.
