App to turn off phone

I have an Optimus. Is there an app or a way to turn off the phone without having to go through 2 dialogues. First I press the top button and have to press"Power Off" then "OK'.

I am looking for a 1 step proceedure.

Correct. For any app to turn off the phone you will need to root your phone because for an app to be able to do that it needs superuser privileges. If (when) you root your phone though you can use Quick Boot to do what you want - 1 button-power-down.

There is also Tasker with the Locale Execute plug-in.
