I'm looking for a (free if possible) app that will allow me to plug in my USB SD memory card reader & copy the files to the phone so i can upload them to Facebook etc. I have an OTG cable, i want it so i can upload photos from my camera memory card while on holiday. I have Nexus Photo Viewer but i can't copy with that. I know about Nexus Media Importer, but i'd rather get a free app if possible.

It also needs to be an app that works without Rooting

    Can anyone recommend?

Thanks in advance all, any advice is much appreciated :)

Your phone may not support OTG.

it does, i have the LG G4, it sees the files fine with the Nexus Photo Viewer but i can't interact with them on that - so i could get Nexus Media Importer which would work, i just wanted to see if there was a free app before i pay for it

Doesn't LG have a built in file manager? I've never used LG, but Samsung has the My Files app and it can see inside the storage connected via OTG fine. I seem to think LG has one built in as well?

A couple of possible solutions without buying new software are available in this article. And another solution is available from this XDA thread although it involves getting a card reader with a 5v power supply.

chanchan05 yes you are right! Although i'd looked using the File Manager built into the phone before i didn't see the little USB icon in the corner - after you said i've tried it again, & clicked the icon & i can view, copy, move, upload, etc all files on the external drive!

Thanks everyone for your help it's much appreciated :)
