Silly question, I did a search and can't find anything. The apps you have on your phone. I know google keeps track of the apps you have downloaded linked to your email address, but what about the data on the apps? Are they backed up on the google cloud?

If not, how is the best way to backup the applications data without rooting?

Unfortunately, App data is not backed up in Google Cloud yet. Come on Google, Steam has been doing this for a year now. Step up your game.

As for backing up apps, you can back up apps you downloaded from the market using Astro File Manager. Look it up. It's in the market. However, if you want to backup app data of stock apps, you will have to root your phone.
