    Hi everyone,

Ive had my samsung galaxy ace for about six months now and its on the vodafone carrier in england. When i bought it i decided not to have it on contract but a 'pay as you go', that way i could pay less money due to knowing i would not use it too often.

My old non smart phone was none contract too and also on vodafone 'pay as you go', but with that one i could leave any small amount of money for calls on it for as long as i wanted and i knew it would always still be there in several months later.

Sadly with my galaxy ace, even though on the same vodaphone carrier and 'pay as you go' payment system, i find im lossing money on it even without doing calls or data usage. Even when i do use it my calls are very short and data use is well under my allowed amount.

Its got to the point where i can 'use'

    Some apps update automatically.

Around here, there are "hidden" costs renamed as "fees"

Ive only downloaded free apps so far and even that was just this month, but these extra costs have been five months before i added any apps. Its maybe something to concider as part of the reason then, so thanks anyway but i still think theres too much money going and im not sure if its the service provider, the android system, or something ive done:/

The idea was to upgrade to a smartphone and use it more than my standard one, but once i seen the costs rocket, i just did the same calls as before. Its cost

Have you left it connected to the internet with autoupdates on? The phone will sync every once in a while during the day for contacts, calendars, etc, and apps would download updates and the like.
