Nobody seems to know anything about the desktop dock from VZ. Seidio is supposedly working on one.... I mean, can't they just churn these things out in a few hours? :D

I'm with you... when are the docks coming out? I would buy three of them right out of the gate, and yet I'm stuck waiting.

Yeah, this is another one of those areas where the business minds at Verizon are find behind their contemporaries. Apple builds a "beautiful" device and then sell the heck out of cases that protect it and basically cover its looks up.

They get that the accessory market should be a huge boon. They'll put out multiple versions of everything. Verizon can't even get out a dock, esp. during the red hot new stage of the phone.

i will try out the seidio dock since i also have the innocase and the vzw/oem dock won't work with a case. i've tried the seidio docks in the past for my moto droid and blackberrys and they've all worked well.

In Verizon's defense, you're talking about ONE phone that has basically remained unchanged for the last 3 years compared to what 40-50 different phone styles Verizon has had?

Sure, but the point is that Apple had those accessories ready out the gate. Plus, this isn't just any old phone to Verizon, this is only their 2nd major answer to the iPhone and currently their big Android phone. Can the make excuses? Yeah. But they'd do better to make money.

I actually tracked down the manu of the VZ Dock once... Some place in TX that specializes in wireless accessories...... should do that again and give them a call.

Uh..... ok......it's kinda what I was looking for yet it is generic and it will fit the phone with the thin TPU case I have on it.

MOre than just creative. Maybe if you had a makerbot and went through some prototypes. The usb port would have to be perfectly lined up.

I personally dont like it when it just sits there. I like to save my charge cycles, so i just put it in when i need it.

OK - help me out. What is the difference between a dock and a cradle? I thought they were synonamous terms.

dock implies an active connection, such as power or usb to a computer, and holds the phone.

    cradle just holds the phone.

A cradle simply holds the device while its charging. If it were a dock the Incredible would "dock" with the station charging it, syncing etc.

So why is that not a dock - it charges and connects to the pc via a usb cable and syncs data according to the description.

Because they want to confuse us, and redefine the English language. I'll bet it's some terrorist marketing group up to no good here!
