Are you guys paying for insurance through Verizon?

Ask someone who accidentally drops his phone the next day to see if it was worth it to have insurance.

Perfect example is my previous post: 3 total losses of a $500 phone. Instead of me paying $1500 I paid $150 total for 3 replacement phones (this was before Verizon upped the ETF and Verizon/Asurion upped the insurance deductible)

Even now with the higher deductible it woulda been $270 total to get 3 replacement phones. $270 is alot easier to manage than $1500

Now if there is a cheaper insurance out there that covers loss, and u can file 2 or more claims in a 12 month period, that would be the way to go. I heard Best Buy offers some. I dont know how it works tho.

i guess if you're a the type that loses and/or breaks things, it's a good thing to have. i've had a mobile phone since 1996, and i've never broken, lost, or had one stolen.

$90 a year for insurance on a item that costs $500 to replace, depreciates quickly and with a $90 deductible, seems to me like it does not make financial sense.

I have never gotten insurance, and have never lost a phone. But I have broken a couple. When I had an LG Dare I cracked the screen twice and both times Verizon gave me refurbished ones for $50...will Verizon do the same with the Droid X?
