Now I am slightly new to the android game. Had a D1 that I traded for and I loved it. Used Astro File manager on there to get swype when it was available. I hear about this app and how it is great and you need it. I have downloaded it and I am not really 100% positive on its purpose. Is it just an easy way to delete files? Are there files I shouldnt delete?

I am not rooted (I'd like to be but I am a big chicken).

Astro is a useful file browser application. You can browse, move, and edit your files and it also is useful for installing apk's that weren't downloaded from the market. There are other similar apps out there but I've always used Astro and I'm happy with it.

I used to be scared to root but it's actually very easy! Run on over to the "All Things Root" forum and check out the "almost-one-click" root. Painless. :)

The droid 2 comes with its own file manager app.

    Astro has more options.
