I am going to buy my first Android and am leaning towards getting the Atrix, but the near-universal hatred of Motoblur is causing hesitation.

If I am going to use LauncherPro on my new device regardless, are there any benefits to pure google?

    Thanks.

OS wise, If you put LauncherPro on it, you won't notice motoblur much. Moto doesn't customize much of the apps or built-ins like the dialer, calendar, music, etc. So it's pretty stock I think. Now, there would be other reasons to get the ATT Nexus S (if ever released). Uncapped upload (for now anyway the Atrix is capped HSUPA). Updates directly from Google.

But on the down, you get 720p video recording on the Atrix, dual core, better battery. AND you can get it for $150 on contract. The Nexus S if released will only be on ATT bands, I doubt AT&T actually offers it subsidized. SO it will be likely 500-600 bucks.
