    Hi all

As you can see from my post count, I am not a spammer - I'm a genuine poster on this forum. Yes, I am not using Android right now, but that's another story - I think Android ROCKS!

I'd like to draw your attention to a company that's offering UNLIMITED data on selected bundles - I mean unlimited. No silly "FUP" of 150mb, or anything like that. Now, I know the heart of Android is Data, and so I thought I'd share this with you.

    www . giffgaff . com

I won't bore you with the details, you can get them from the site - BUT if you're using a lot of data, or texts and calls for that matter, then you owe it to yourself to have a quick look.

    Hi Lekky

Well, that was just the promo offer which you are a little late for - However, they have released "goodybags" which are more suitable for Android, and other smatphone users.

the ten quid one is particularly interesting:

Yeah, I think it's pretty good. I'm just relieved that you seem to have taken the post in the spirit it was intended.

Data outside the bundles is still being discussed on the forums. They have already changed them as a result of forum feedback - how many companies do you know that would do that??

You state you ain't spamming & that must be true then, albeit your behaviour "PM me & I can have a SIM sent to you ....." might make many fair minded neutrals very suspicious of your motives and backing...

Hey ho, GiggGaff seems to be (see Wiki..

) a subsidiary of O2 & uses the O2 network which makes it no use for me as naff-all O2 3G at wife's house...

Do tell us more of your profession & motivation to put the suspicious to bed??

    Cheers!

Well, for a start, I have provided the website address. If you can't work out how to get a sim sent to you via that, then spam is the least of your problems.

To be honest, I posted up a tip for people who use lots of data - simple as that. There are benefits to both me and you if I send you a sim (

Well, lol, its my belief that everything anyone does in life is in some part, self serving. This thread can be viewed as that, one thing that saved you is waiting to post the PM me bit :p

Anyway I won't be moving to this, but its interesting nonetheless.

(if this thread was made from a new members first post, it may be different)

For the sake of altruism, I'll remove the PM reference.

I genuinely believe in this, and would like to see Android users making the most of a) their devices, and b) their data

    Seriously - it's just a genuine recommendation.

Too many companies are being stingy with data - this is truly unlimited - data AND texts, and in the case of the

Had a quick look at the site, and ordered my SIM.

Seems to be a really good deal compared to others I've been using; and the website seems much clearer to me than the competition (admittedly that could be 'cause I'm simple!)

Thanks, will report back with any problems/issues/positive feedback.

Thanks for having a little faith mate.

I'm sure you'll find the service is transparent and great value. You'll also earn cold, hard cash for helping the others out on the forum too.

    cheers again!

To my mind, Android goes against the grain and promoted openness. I think Giffgaff have pretty much the same ethos. A company trying to be different. They have cut costs by not having a 24 hour support line (use the forum instead), they don't have shops (as they don't sell handsets) free 0800 numbers, free giffgaff to giffgaff calls and texts......it's just good value, but they don't make a secret of why.

  12. I got my G1 from T-Mobile when it came out and my contract is coming to an end next month.

I thought I would try giffgaff to check whether it would be a viable option for when that ends. So far T-Mobile have only been able to match the

when they say free text and internet for a month, does that mean 30 days from when you bought the goodybag or from the beginning till end of the month? i.e. 1 May - 31 May

More like 15th to 15th, or 8th to 8th for example. Some months you'll get 31 days, others you'll get 30, and feb is a bummer!

    Simple and easy.

    Unlimited means unlimited too!

    Well, I see your point.
However, they are working on ways to manage top ups to make the process more automated. You'll be able to stack them up, have them activated at set times etc.

Thanks for the feedback though. ;)

You get 100 minutes of talktime and truly unlimited data and texts for a tenner with giffgaff though. Calls to others on the network are free.

You'd be suprised how many people send over 1000 texts these days - I'm certainly not one of them, but my kids are.

But surely as an adult (which I presume you are?) you can take a view as to what is spam and what is not. As you should also be able to tell by these posts, there are people who appreciate the heads-up.

Again, my post count would dictate that I have not signed up here simply to wax lyrical.

What's the matter? What specific problem do you have? Is it with me? Is it with the company?
