Support Audio playback battery life

    Hi All,

    I registered to post this because I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the web. I have had my S2 since it was launched after struggling with an iPhone 3G for a while.

    I noticed from the very beginning that the S2 gets very hot and loses a LOT of battery life when playing back audio (of any kind). I believe this is probably to do with audio decoding happening via software rather than hardware, or something along those lines?

    Coming from an iPhone which gives 30-40 hours audio playback (without getting hot enough to fry an egg) this is a major shock, especially since I use my phone to listen to music several hours a day.

    Two questions:
    1. Can anyone confirm how Apple is able to deliver 40 hours audio playback and Samsung can only give around 6? It basically forces me to charge my phone every day.
    2. Are there any apps that are particularly better than others when it comes to how much CPU is used when playing back audio?
