Epic user, and wanted to share with other Galaxy S users that this app available on the market will allow you to keep your ringer and notification volumes the same.
Soooo...you can go into Settings and tell it to "link" volume and alerts, and then just set your volume either on the main screen or with your volume rockers on the side of the phone. Done!
