You need to go into internet/ settings/ turn off brightness. That is what keeps resetting automatic brightness.

It keeps turning itself back on. Hence the problem......

So, which browser are you using and are you talking about the system setting or the browser setting for auto brightness? I think richjolliff was trying to point out that there are two different settings and maybe they both need to be turned off?

But the main brightness check box keeps turning back on randomly. Even with auto power savings off.

I'm actually having a different problem. Everytime my battery gets low, my phone display time goes down to 15 seconds. I like my screen to go off after a minute of no activity but it keeps resetting to 15 seconds everytime my battery goes under 25%. Its really annoying because I have to keep going into settings to change it back to 1 minute everytime.

Sounds like 'power saving mode' is enabled. Do you have that turned on?

Yep, definitely sounds like power saving mode. I shut it off on my phone cause it annoyed me. :)
