I have noticed that when you open up a web page or email the screen dims a little bit. Its minor and would probably be unnoticeable but as soon as you bring up the keyboard the screen lights up and gets to the DEFAULT brightness. I have auto brightness off and I have used power widget to set it to brightest, mid and lowest and it does it on all. I even went as far as removing power widget then using brighness under settings but it STILL dimms when pages are loaded/email and a few other apps. Incredibly annoying anyone else notice this and possible have a fix? Thanks!

does it dim only while its loading and then go bright when its fully loaded? or go dim and stay dim?

As soon as browser, email or messanger the screen immedialty goes alittle. If you open it up it usually dims just fast enough that you cant see it. As SOON as you it an entry field that calls the keyboard up the screen gets brighter. Try it yourself its blatantly obvious on a white background.

For me, the screens seems to light up when I have the keyboard active, then back to normal brightness when I send a text or email or exit keyboard. Weird...

I also think there's a glitch w/ the Auto-brightness. I don't notice it adjusting well enough when I'm in my car during the day. Not sure it's adjusting at all, actually. It remains too dim, and I end up manually turning up the brightness.

droid charge used to do this, is there a setting for this somewhere?

Like in foursquare, the screen dims when you check-in for a few seconds until the next page comes back, like it's doing it on purpose.

I have adjusted the brightness manually and it still does the same thing.

same problem here - the screen brightens whenever I click on something and the screen changes (menus, web sites, etc). Happens with manual or auto settings.

I didn't see this in the known issue thread, but I have to believe it's known by now.

I've got the same thing, web pages are dimmer than the brightness setting for the screen. One of the phones I had gave a separate setting for screen brightness on web pages. The difference was stunning after that adjustment. I don't see any setting for that.

Mine no longer does this - presumably an update took care of it.

No problem, im currently running Kang Milestone 2 rom with Franco kernel if you get it rooted.

No problems with the rom and the kernel is focussed on battery, works perfectly.
