Help Auto-Capitalize(!!!!!!!!)

I have a Motorola Defy XT running Android 2.3.7..on which I found the auto caps in two places (depending on which "keyboard" style you want):

Settings->Language & Keyboard->Multi-touch keyboard->Auto-capitalization
(I also turned of "Auto-punctuate" as well--I thought it was me fat-fingering those extra periods!)
Settings->Language & Keyboard->Swype->Preferences->Auto-capitalization.

So, slightly different from the answers above, but survivable. Hope this provides a useful clue for someone.
