Auto Snyc - Corporate Sync

At night, I turn off Auto-Sync becuase I do not want to get email notifications, I only want calls and texts to come through. This has always worked perfectly with my Gmail account on my Bionic.

I recently added a Corporate Sync account for my work email account (We use Outlook). Data Push is turned on, and the fetch schedule is set to every 15 minutes. even when the Auto sync is turned off on the phone, emails still come through. How does the data push come through if i have Auto Sync turned off?

Any help would be great.
