Several times a day, I find that the volume for my ringer as well as my notifications volume both automatically turn all the way down to zero. This did not occur when I first got my phone but has been going on for about a week now. The only thing I thought would do this would be one of the optimizer apps I downloaded, so I uninstalled all of them. Now it's actually worse. Has anyone had this problem or have any advice for me? I would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks

Do you have the assist app, meeting mode, turned on so that it silences the phone while you have a calendar event?

I find that with the volume controls directly opposite the power button, I'm frequently changing volume when what I wanted to do was blank the screen.

There is nothing to do with your phone’s OS. You might have an app installed that can control the ringer of your smartphone without letting you know how. Check out the permissions granted to the apps that you have installed, there are some that may access ringer for notifications and some that may stop. Do you have any auto ringer switching app installed on your phone? Most of the time, this could be causing the trouble.

If the proximity sensor is enabled you could just touch it to blank the screen.
