Anyway to get the vibrant version on the captivate?
Avatar was such a terrible movie, why would you even want it on your Captivate?!
Okay, okay... I believe the movie file has DRM that ties it to the specific SD card that came with the Vibrant. You can't move it to the internal memory, so you'll have to find a Vibrant owner who upgraded to a 16gb SD card or wait for the Samsung MediaHub thingy to launch.
Just use a dvd decripter to copy movie from a dvd to your hard drive, then use handbrake to convert it to a smaller size for the phone.
can you recommend any programs?
i used any dvd converter pro. Worked great.
I'd say torrent a copy, figure out the best format and resolution (800x480 perhaps?) and use Handbrake to make a phone-copy. (Of course only get the digital copy if you bought the movie ;-))
I have some digital copies on itunes.. Anyway to get those on?
This phone will play many formants of movies without converting, I have loaded mp4,wmv, and divx movies directly on the SD card and they played beautifully with no conversion. Its one of best features of this phone.
i spent literally hours trying to get a movie to play, and play well on the aria. Imma try this out right now.
I keep getting error with a lot of stuff some works some don't in the same formats.
I can play 1080P mkv files no prob here.
were they a mp4 in the apple quicktime format? Thats the only format I have had trouble with. However the next time i allowed windows to convert it to wmv for me and it worked fine after that.
Another alternative would be to download the free Rock Player app from the market.
