so this my first time trying to flash a ROM on my Captivate. I backed up my stuff with Titanitum, I have busy box and ROM Manager and I copied the Axura RC1 ROM to my internal sd card. I tried going into recovery mode and going to install from sd card or whatever and I chose that file and it wipes the data and caches and then says
    --Installing: SDCARD:AXURA_RC1_CE.zip
    Finding update package...
    Opening update package...
    Installing update...

then it stays there. It's been there for 30 minutes now. I also tried flashing cognition 2.3b6 but the same thing happened. Does anyone know why this could be happening? please help me out!

Sounds more like an issue with cwm than the roms since both roms aren't installing, try flashing cwm again from rom manager.

Should have the ROM saved to your external SD card not the internal one. Try that.

Sounds like you need to disable a lag fix.

i tried reflashing CWM 3 times and I dont have a lag fix. I might try with the external SD once I get one but I saw a video on youtube of a guy putting Cognition on from the internal. Any other suggestions?

Try installing the rom from rom manager's install rom option rather than cwm recovery, its the same thing in the end but its something else you can try.

This Rom is dead, the discussion thread for this Rom at XDA is close...I would say go for Assonance 3.1 or Cog2.3b6.....

Not totally. Master just didn't want further Captivate ports to be released on XDA.
Hans opened an official support forum ({OFFICIAL} </AXURA CE> Support Thread - xda-developers), and if one looks around one might actually find updated releases.
