Is the Prime an unlocked developer phone?

Nothing confirmed. There is a possibility of it being the Droid Prime, it should still be first phone with ice cream sandwich but it may have some typical verizon bloat. If we are lucky it could be unlocked like the other nexus phones, possibly with just the droid prime name instead of nexus prime.

I'm concerned about Samsung's history of weak radio reception. Their Nexus S 4G has terrible reception, despite a patch that supposedly improved it.

I'd wait for an HTC phone but I don't think they are any better either. The original Nexus had 3G reception problems, and the Incredible had terrible voice quality.

This is the only reason I am on the fence about waiting vs just getting a Bionic. I really like that the X just WORKS. I don't know why it's so hard to get a phone to work as a phone these days. All of my Moto phones that I have had seem to actually work properly, even if they don't have the flashiest specs.

if moto gave us the keys to our DX it would get new life, rest assured, kernels will start popping up left and right, more roms will turn up, cause lets face it, the D1 and the DX are the best phones moto has ever produced. i hear alot of good things about the d3 but it's still no dx, and never will be. the DX is a powerhouse and always will remain that way, it's resilient, tough, and can take a beating, and cannot be completely bricked. it is quite possibly, unbrickable!!

    +1
bionic may have specs, but the X has something the bionic doesnt (for now)

more custom roms, and a great dev team!
the X is the first dominant phone moto produce, even with it locked up, so that can only mean one thing. unlocked it will be the best!

I was sitting with a friend in a bad reception spot. His Fascinate ED05 had data service. My Bionic had nothing in either 4G or 3G mode. Still happy with the Bionic though it has a few bugs. I only got it because one of my employees needed a phone so I gave him my X. The X was perfectly fine. I got the Bionic first day and got soaked on the upgrade. I knew a week later the price would drop but I needed a phone badly.

your delusional if you think the last gen omap chip is faster then the next gen dual core version of it with double the ram. Personally Ive found the bionic miles above the x in speed, maybe you have a borked bionic? I too ran cm7 -> miui on my x so I know exactly what you mean in terms of speed. Did you try any custom roms before you returned it?

Cvpcs already has cm7 booting he just needs to finish working on stabilizing before its released.
