At the end of the day, it's all down to opinions. I stated mine, and why I prefer the iPhone. Widgets is something I'm going to miss though.

I agree but the hardware in the Hero really cannot be used that much further than what it currently is.

I think that is a personal statement of yours. I compared the specs of the Hero with the 3GS and they are extremely similar. It's the OS that is holding the Hero back. When 2.0 comes out, hopefully it will be alot smoother and more solid.
