How do I put my apps etc on my sd card to free up the phone memory?

Also how do I find out how much phone memory I have left?

Thanks

1. Go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications/tap on the app, and if you can move it, the 'Move to SD card' button will be highlighted. Not all apps can be moved.

2. Go to Settings/SD & phone storage, and it is shown under 'Internal phone storage'.

Download an app called "app 2 sd"

It will show you all the apps you have installed which are capable of being transferred and make its easier to do so.

Short answer.... you wait :p

You could debrand etc but if you're not sure what you are doing you might be better waiting for the official t-mobile version (which should only be a few weeks)

Whether you want it..... Yes you should do there are a lot of improvements (speed, full flash, 720p video, apps2sd) but it looks like its brought some bugs with it as well which should hopefully be fixed soon after us Guinea Pigs have tested it out ;).

Haha, I don't do waiting very well...but I have no idea how to debrand my phone, and I don't think I'd want to attempt it. I'll have to wait

Thanks for your help!

You mentioned an app called "app 2 sd" but I can't seem to find it on Market Place...any ideas?

I've just thought: if you're asking because you're running out of internal storage, don't forget that you will need 25mb free space to install 2.2 when it's available to you. If so, your best bet is to back up all your apps (using, for example, MyBackup Pro), delete however many apps you need to, do the upgrade, and then restore them. Though that exercise showed me how many apps I have that I've never used, and therefore didn't need to actually restore. :)

Thanks everyone!

I downloaded a little widget that tells me how much internal memory I have... its showing 112mb/147mb so all is well for the moment!

I'm a neat freak, and don't like clutter on my phone lol!

but clutter is good..... :p

yeah, your desire is t-mobile branded, so if you don't want to mess around with the phone at all, reps at t-mobile have said that the 2.2 update should be available to us in september. not too far away to be honest..

And despite all the huffing and puffing about it, it really doesn't change much. I'm hard pushed to see the difference, and as you've got so much free space, the installing to SD isn't really necessary yet.

You're not missing much, IMO. (Or is that sacrilege to say that here?)
