AT & T just released 2.1 finally after 100000 years so now Im only 2 OS behind, but thats another frustration for another post.

    My issue is this:

I have Sony PC Companion loaded on to my computer.I follow the steps for backup and restore and download the files to do so FROM THE SONY ANDROID XPERIA 10 Site.......The I try and ope the download to do the backup and restore and it tells me that my phone wont support this files beacue ITS NOT ANDROID BASED.......

What am I doing wrong or is there a work around ? THANK YOU

You'd be better off asking this in the x10 (i'm guessing that's the phone you have) forums (unless a mod wants to move the thread...)

I do not like using PC Companion, it has never copperated for me. Download and install SEUS from Sony:

    Sony Ericsson - Support - Softwaredownloads - Detailed - Updateservice - Xperia? X10

If you are trying to do a backup. Do it using Accounts and Sync using your Gmail account (or create one or create a Sony Account going through those steps) It is under Menu button->Settings->Accounts and Sync

    Backup contacts and all that.

Go through the update steps using SEUS. If it doesn't work, try a different USB port...still doesn't work, make sure you are using a admin account.

Installing 2.1 will basically wipe it clean, so back up everything you want.

Hopefully that helps you out. If you run into problems, check back in here and let us know how far you got.

Might be a problem for all AT&T customers because there are probably over 10,000 people all trying to update to 2.1 right now....all on AT&T.

Download the back up directly from the Android Market, and save contacts
    because they will be gone.
