yeah you will get that with the stock kernel. i have always done a bump charge. basically i charge over night then in the morning i would unplug, power it off and plug it back in and wait til the charge light goes green, power it back on and plug it back in one last time. i do not get that 5% drain immediately off charge.

yeah try the bump charge works for me. after it hits 100% unplug and power off (not screen off)then charge it while it is off. turn it back on and charge it again.

i cant guarantee that it will give you better battery life. but it will not give you that 5-10% drop off. so in the end it might extend it a little bit better. hope that helps.

    Just a thought:
My battery is a lot worse than usual when I'm worried about it. When I'm worried about it, I'm constantly checking it, etc... basically shooting myself in the foot. When I act like I don't give a **** (But secretly do) then I get like 22 hours out of my battery.

I find that the fast 5% off the bat is still there however HTC fixed the standby battery leak so that it can last at leadt 24 hours on standby. Also to me it always seems like i am getting my battery's worth when i get down below the twenty percent because it drains the phone much slower but that may be just me. If you are still on 2.2 update to gingerbread and after check how your battery does if it bot good do the battery calibration and see how that does for ya.
