Help barcode scanners not focusing?

I have two scanners.."shopper" and "barcode scanner" both from the market...worked great at first , but now seemingly wont focus on the code...qr or upc...

i thought maybe my camera was to blame, cause in addition pics are coming out blurry...

had a buddy of mine with his evo download "barcode scanner" and he had the same problem with the same qr code...

is it our cameras? or is it the scanner apps....?

It was my understanding that the barcode scanning apps relied on the camera so i would say that if your pictures are coming out blurry as well that the camera would be the culprit. Check your lens and make sure it's clean, might also check for scratches.

stopped by the local store, and the techie said the camera was fine, he says the barcode scanner technology is not really there...yet...

anyone else have experience or knowledge of this?

i occasionally have issues and simply relocate the phone...move it closer to the image, further from the image. sometimes lighting is the culprit...others it is the source (screen) you are scanning.

it takes a few minutes for the scanner to intake all of the information. if it is flashing red dots here and there on the image do not move it...it is reading the code. if you move it during this process it will start over
