Barcode scanners

Hi,
I'm confused and frustrated. Can anyone help?
I bought a Samsung Dart from T mobile. Need to have bare code scanning for work.
I returned phone now looking for new low cost (free would be better) android that works great with scanners.

Any feedback on Samsung Gravity smart owners?
Thinking about this one ?
