Basic swype questions

When using the swype keyboard, it keeps adding periods at the end of words. I think it is happening when I press the spacebar. Anyone know why it is doing this?

I never hit the spacebar until I'm usually done with a sentence. Try after you swype a word just swype another and it'll space it for you.

I just experienced the problem. It happens when I accidentally hit the period instead of the space bar.

I know that double tapping the space bar will make it put a period.
