Im trying to figure out what's draining my battery so quickly. I went to bed with about 88% at 11pm and woke up at 6:45am and had only 25% left. I had 3g data and gps off with wifi on. I checked spare parts and partial wake usage doesn't show any high usage. When I check other usage under battery history it showed 88% running and 10% screen on. When I check the usage stats it shows Launcher as the highest usage at count - 67 and usage time - 969883.

Im running MIUI 1.2.11 and kernel 2.6.35.9 bcblend. I have a screen off profile set and I have wifi set to never sleep bc I read it would cause fc if it wasn't enabled. The previous night wth MIUI over the same period I think I only dropped 7%. The only difference is the kernel. I do have a nandroid of the previous MIUI setup but would like to try to figure the issue out before restoring. Any ideas?

I'd try turning off the wifi (I don't touch the 3G data) when you turn in for the night, leaving it on definitely puts a drain on the battery and then see what kind of performance you get overnight. I actually do the same thing except I charge to 100% then unplug for the night.

I'd suggest long pressing the home button then hitting 'app killer' just to be sure no apps are running in the b/g.

The best I've ever seen was only a 4-5% drop, which easily beat any other ROM + S.P. app. But I did notice with this latest build and kernel that it draws more, closer to 10-12% so I wouldn't expect much better than that.

What's strange is that I had set wifi to never sleep the previous night and my battery barely drained.

This could be an issue with the kernel, try restoring the backup and see what it does after that, some phone just don't like certain kernels.

I think it was the bcblend 2.6.35.9_rc3 kernel I was using. The bcblend kernel that came with miui 2.11 didn't have a bad battery drain but screen tearing was an issue. I just flashed Zendroid-1.1.0-CFS-svs and so far so good.

I can definitely confirm the battery issues I had the previous night was related to the bcblend 2.6.35.9_rc3 kernel. I flashed ziggy's 2.6.32.28 CFS yesterday and fully charged it before going to bed. Over a 10 hr span the battery only dropped 10%. When I checked other usage since last unplugged Running showed 11.6% even though wifi was set to never sleep.

What hw version are you on and what MIUI build? I'm on 003 and have pretty bad battery life with 2.11 but everything works - bt, camera, usb.
