Check charging with a known-good charger and/or cable. This will eliminate faults with the supplied charger, and indicates either a failed battery or a hardware problem with the phone itself.
If your battery is damaged, you should replace it as possible... there are a lot of dangerous chemicals in there that are protected by some nice electronics...
You really don't want to mess with it, and if its mishaped in any way, get rid of it.

If you know for a fact that there is something wrong with the battery, then the only solution is to replace it with a new one. Not sure what else you're looking for here-
